Description: When formatting a paragraph within a textbook in word processing document the ruler is available above the textbook, but the tabs added there are ignored by the program. For example, click on the ruler to place a tab 3 in. from the left margin and it shows up on the ruler as expected, but when you type in that paragraph and press the tab key the cursor moves to the next preset tab stop, even though that tab stop no longer appears on the ruler. additional presses of the tab key moves the cursor over to successive preset tab stops, none of which appear on the ruler. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a word processing (Writer) document. 2. Create a text box within the above document. 3. Type any text adding a tab to shift the text that follows. 4. Adjust the tab position using the ruler (to avoid having to open the tabs dialog box). Actual Results: Though the desired tab placement shows on the ruler, the actual tabs available as you type are the default tab stops every 1/2 inch. You must tab over several times to move the cursor to the desired location. Expected Results: After setting the tab at 3 inches, pressing the tab key within that paragraph should move the cursor directly under the 3 inch point on the ruler. Though I did not reset the user profile, this was on a new installation of LibreOffice.(Less than 48 hours after installation). I found work arounds on the LibreOffice help website, but they were cumbersome compared to using the ruler as expected. I saw no bug report to have the problem repaired, so created this one.
