2.accept/propose some other word
3.wait how long it takes before it gives the next spell issue

Actual Results:
it takes about 8 seconds for LO to find the next spelling issue

Expected Results:
it takes about 8 seconds for LO to find the next spelling issue

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
take it a little less easy ;)

Your LO version is rather old. Please upgrade to one of the current supported versions, 5.4 or 6.0, and try again.

Did you try with a basic short text (like dummy text, DT + F3) or only with one of your personal, possibly long and complex, documents?

Did you customize the dictionary?

Status set to NEEDINFO, please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once requested
informations are provided.

Best regards. JBF

Dear Jean-Baptiste
I have the problem very consistently with every text, even a short and simple text. It takes at least 4 seconds between every check. Only when unidentified words are in the same scentence (or perhaps paragraph) the time is less.
For now I am not allowed to upgrade as our company macro's are not yet verified for the latest version (which is quite odd I think..).

I don;'t know if i customized the dictionary. How can i check that? I have a personal dic though where i add words which are not in the standard dict.

@Jean-Baptiste, do you know if it's possible to check it ?

Stefan, you find the path of your personal dictionary in Tools => Options => Paths => dictionaries. You can open the dictionary in an editor, have a look at it and customize it.

Is this a duplicate of Bug 82119 or Bug 94184? Needs to be tested with newer version.

I have this problem also for short texts. It is faster indeed if i empty my private dic file, but i do need very much these added words.

Stefan, which version do you actual use. Regarding to the bugs, that are mentioned in comment 7, your problem might have been solved with LO 6.1.

Plese paste informations from Help => AboutLibreOffice

=> Back to NEEDINFO

Dear dieter, I use 5.2.6.2. Unfortunately due to office restrictions I myself cannot update to a higher version... :(
Comment 13 Dieter 2019-06-06 10:00:23 UTC
Xisco, what to do with a bug report in such a case?
Comment 14 Buovjaga 2019-08-19 16:51:09 UTC
stefan: are you able to run a portable version of 6.3.0 to test? https://www.libreoffice.org/download/portable-versions/
Do you have a home computer you can run anything on?
Comment 15 Stuart Halliday 2019-11-08 23:49:19 UTC
The first Spell check you perform on a unknown word takes an age to process before it pops open the dialogue box.

Really needs speeding up as it looks like it isn't doing anything to the causal User.
