The exact steps to reproduce: Open Writer and go to Help - About Libre Office. (Don't close this file) Now open a new Writer file. And try to close the last one from File - Exit Libre Office. The second file is not closing because the first one is in page About Libre Office and this button became inactive. But it is not the same with X from the second file. X can close the second file in the same conditions.
Thank you for reporting the bug. I can confirm that the bug is present. Version: 6.0.6.2 Build ID: 0c292870b25a325b5ed35f6b45599d2ea4458e77 CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 6.1; UI render: default; Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: group

Please try with informations from comment 2. A new file opened with Help - About window, and then open a new window and try to exit with File - Exit Libre Office.
(In reply to BogdanB from comment #5) > > Please try with informations from comment 2. > > A new file opened with Help - About window, and then open a new window and > try to exit with File - Exit Libre Office. Dialog About is modal and it's expected behaviour
(In reply to BogdanB from comment #2) > The exact steps to reproduce: > > Open Writer and go to Help - About Libre Office. (Don't close this file) > Now open a new Writer file. I can't see these steps in your video and I can't open a new file, if "About Libre Office" is open.
Created attachment 146720 [details] video showing the bug Please see my new video. Two windows side by side. In the first case the Help - About is opened in the right Writer. I try to close Libre Office. - Exit Libre Office is doing nothing - X is closing just the current document Two windows side by side. In the second case both windows are simply opened. I try to close Libre Office. - Exit Libre Office is closing all documents - X is closing just the current document I consider the problem to be that Exit Libre Office is doing nothing in the first case inspite I was not doing nothing special in the right window.
I confirm this with Version: 6.2.0.0.beta1 (x64) Build ID: d1b41307be3f8c19fe6f1938cf056e7ff1eb1d18 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win; Locale: en-US (de_DE); UI-Language: en-GB Calc: threaded and Version: 5.4.7.2 (x64) Build-ID: c838ef25c16710f8838b1faec480ebba495259d0 CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 6.19; UI-Render: GL; Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: CL But I think the problem is more precise "Exit LibreOffice doesn't work" if "About LibreOffice" window is open. It does work, if there are dialogs open (I treid with Format => Chareacters and Insert => Characters). So I would expect, that it also works in case of the about-window.

It is much better described now.

Dear BogdanB, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Warm Regards, QA Team MassPing-UntouchedBug
I tested now on Windows 10: Version: 6.3.3.2 (x64) Build ID: a64200df03143b798afd1ec74a12ab50359878ed CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win; Locale: ro-RO (ro_RO); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded The option "Exit LibreOffice" from the File menu is inactive. It's better than to be active and not working. I want to test this evening on Linux.
It's the same thing on Linux. The option to close the other window is disable now, so this bug is solved. Verified on Version: 6.3.3.2 Build ID: a64200df03143b798afd1ec74a12ab50359878ed CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3; Locale: ro-RO (ro_RO.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded I supose this was fixed by another change in code.
Thanks for retesting with the latest version. Setting to RESOLVED WORKSFORME as the commit fixing this issue hasn't been identified.
