Description Toby 2018-12-27 21:27:45 UTC
Description:
With an autofilter, when a filter was set, the arrow on the filter used to be a different colour. Now there’s just a small dot. It makes it hard to see at a glance which columns are filtered. Could you reintroduce the colour change as well as the dot please?

Steps to Reproduce:
Create an autofilter, filter one of the columns.

Actual Results:
There's a dot on the filtered column

Expected Results:
The arrow on the filter should also turn to a different colour, as it used to.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I believe this changed with the last overhaul of the UI

Where (in what version of LibreOffice) do you see color arrow as indication of autofilter?
Comment 2 V Stuart Foote 2018-12-28 14:19:44 UTC
Yes we'd need to know the OS and Desktop environment as icon assigned to "check box" and "radio button" symbols can differ quit a bit between desktop environments.

For Windows OS builds the icon for the rolldown symbol (black downward triangle) have been colored at least since 5.3 builds.

Difference between auto filter on/off

I was wrong. When a filter is set, it is coloured, but to my eyes, dark blue and black look the same.
Can it be made obvious, eg black and red? Or colour the whole box, not just the arrow?

PS I'm sure it used to be more obvious
I've attached a screenshot

Here's what it looked like in 3.3.0 on Windows, I wouldn't say the dot was any more obvious.

Nevertheless, it could be more obvious, eg in Excel it looks like this (see section "How to apply filter in Excel"):

Actually, there's already a bug report on this, let me set this as duplicate.
