Description: I encounter this problem on Kubuntu 19.04 Disco with Impress 6.2.2.2. Doing a slide show with an embedded video gives the previous text slide overlaid on the video. The video occupies full screen and ignores the page size. This fault makes Impress useless when dealing with embedded videos on the soon to be released Disco distribution. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Choose Insert > Audio or Video and select a video file in either mp4, wmv or webm. Scale the video to fit into the Slide Show window. Make sure there is a normal text slide before the video. 2. Go to the text slide and start the slide show. 3. Advance to the slide with the video to be played. Actual Results: When advanced to the video slide, the video is played full screen and overlaid by a scaled down version of the previous text slide. This initiates a continuous still image of the start video as the rest of the slides are presented. Expected Results: Video played at the size of the projector screen without any overlayed text from the previous slide. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No OpenGL enabled: Yes Additional Info: You are referred to further details on launchpad at https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1821849. This problem was initially reported on the Kubuntu forum at https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread.php/74706-Give-Discoing-a-go-with-Kubuntu-19-04-Disco/page4 at posting #36
Please try to install gstreamer1.0-gtk3, or check if it is installed. Possibly duplicated with tdf#124068.
I checked and it wasn't installed so I installed it and it made no difference. I also installed all gstreamer1.0-plugins* and that did not have any impact on this bug. I have found that this bug is not present in Ubuntu 19.04. It is only present in Kubuntu 19.04.
Created attachment 150751 [details] This Image is from Kubuntu 18.04 Impress 6.0.7.3 and works perfectly I would point out that this is a new bug which affects Kubuntu 19.04 Libreoffice Impress 6.2.2.2. This shows what I would expect from Impress 6.2.2.2. But I get nothing like this which is shown in the next image.

Hopefully this image and the previous image show what is expected and what I get from Kubuntu 19.04 Impress 6.2.2.2 which shows full screen on the primary and secondary with total loss of control, ie its a mess that need fixing!!!
You can't confirm your own bugs. Moving it back to UNCONFIRMED until someone else confirms it.
Do you reproduce it if you call LibreOffice from Konsole with 'SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 soffice' ?
Yes I did and the output from my console: :~$ SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 soffice javaldx: Could not find a Java Runtime Environment! Please ensure that a JVM and the package libreoffice-java-common is installed. If it is already installed then try removing ~/.libreoffice/3/user/config/javasettings_Linux_*.xml Warning: failed to read path from javaldx DtsGetHWFeatures: Create File Failed DtsGetHWFeatures: Create File Failed Running DIL (3.22.0) Version DtsDeviceOpen: Opening HW in mode 0 DtsDeviceOpen: Create File Failed DtsGetHWFeatures: Create File Failed Running DIL (3.22.0) Version DtsDeviceOpen: Opening HW in mode 0 DtsDeviceOpen: Create File Failed DtsGetHWFeatures: Create File Failed Running DIL (3.22.0) Version DtsDeviceOpen: Opening HW in mode 0 DtsDeviceOpen: Create File Failed DtsGetHWFeatures: Create File Failed Running DIL (3.22.0) Version DtsDeviceOpen: Opening HW in mode 0 DtsDeviceOpen: Create File Failed DtsGetHWFeatures: Create File Failed Running DIL (3.22.0) Version DtsDeviceOpen: Opening HW in mode 0 DtsDeviceOpen: Create File Failed DtsGetHWFeatures: Create File Failed Running DIL (3.22.0) Version DtsDeviceOpen: Opening HW in mode 0 DtsDeviceOpen: Create File Failed I do have "libreoffice-jave-common" installed. Also in the above message "try removing ~/.libreoffice/3/user/config/javasettings_Linux_*.xml", I found that /3/ on my system was /4/ and I have also removed that file. These changes have made no difference to what I am observing.
I am very pleased to report that I now have Impress working as it should with a video. When I start soffice with the command line: SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 soffice, I initially got odd behaviour, but it was resolved by opening the file rather than selecting from the soffice list. What I now get is: :~$ SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 soffice (soffice:4211): Gdk-WARNING **: 20:02:08.838: XSetErrorHandler() called with a GDK error trap pushed. Don't do that. I am also puzzled by the above file error messages. Before making this change, I was almost driven up the wall with editing I was doing with impress. I lost cursor control after doing an unformulated paste. I have just come back from testing an odp Impress file. Because of the troubles I had, I used my Kubuntu 18.04 system. I now have the confidence to use 19.04 tomorrow. Thanks very much or your help.
[Automated Action] NeedInfo-To-Unconfirmed
(In reply to QA Administrators from comment #9) > [Automated Action] NeedInfo-To-Unconfirmed I am now have Kubuntu 19.10 and I have found that the above approach no longer works. The presentation from Impress is the same mess as before. The version of LibreOffice that I now have is 6.2.3.2.
I now have LibreOffice Impress 6.2.4.2 on Kubuntu 19.10 and the problem with Embedded Videos is still there. Starting with "SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 soffice" makes no difference and also no errors occur on start-up.
I now have LibreOffice Impress 6.2.5.2 installed and I am very pleased to say that Embedded Videos work as they should without any problems. It is such a relief to have this problem finally fixed. Thanks VeryMuch.
Great, let's close.
