Description: I just upgraded to LibreOffice 6.2.2. When I open the new libreoffice, I get the following message: 'The LibreOffice configuration has been changed. Under Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Advanced, select the Java runtime environment you want to have used by LibreOffice.' Clicking 'OK' here allows LibreOffice Writer to open normally. But when I try to open 'options' in the Tool menu, Libreoffice freezes and quits responding - a problem that can only be resolved by closing Libreoffice. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open LibreOffice Writer 2. On Tools menu, select options 3. Libreoffice freezes and does not open 'options' 4. clicking anywhere in the LibreOffice window produces the 'not responding' message Actual Results: Libreoffice freezes and clicking on the window produces the 'not responding' message. Expected Results: It should have opened 'options' Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Running LibreOffice Writer in safe mode does not solve the problem.
Paul is it happen only for Tools->Options?
The only circumstance I have observed the freezing problem is after selecting 'options' in the 'Tools' menu. I haven't searched extensively for other circumstances that produce this problem, though I also haven't noticed any other circumstances that produce the problem in routine use of LibreOffice Writer. Were you able to reproduce the problem from my description?
Could you please paste the info from Help - about LibreOffice ?

Were you able to reproduce the problem from my > description? I have the same problem with libreoffice 6.2.5.2 on openSuSE Leap 15.1. Not only writer freezes but also the main entry page to libreoffice. And it is the only tools entry that leads to freeze.
My version of LibreOffice is according to the help display: Version: 6.2.5.2 Build-ID: 20(Build:2) CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Linux 4.12; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: kde5; Gebietsschema: de-AT (de_DE.UTF-8); UI-Sprache: de-DE Calc: threaded
I tried again with more patience, and after choosing tools-> options I didn't click into the LibreOffice window: LibreOffice doesn't freeze, but it took about 2 minutes until the options window popped up. So it seems (at least for version 6.2.5.2) that one just has to wait too long a time until the options window is ready.
Another try: After closing the tools window I called it again. This time the window popped up without delay.
Another observation: when I open tools->options gpg2 starts and uses 100% of one CPU. This lasts on my system about 2 minutes 30 seconds. The moment the options window pops up gpg2 stops running (or probably the other way round). This happens every time tools->options is called in a newly started LibreOffice session.

That might actually point into the right direction, if it's the same for you Paul. Can you confirm it's the same thing for you and try the steps described in bug 117595 comment 29?

I didn't reply to your last query, because I don't really understand what you are asking for. On my current version of LibreOffice I can no longer reproduce the problem, so I guess it's fixed. Thanks.
