Description adslcai 2019-06-20 04:02:19 UTC
Description:
I hope to increase the number of stickers in the big posters to print and add sticky lines for easy posting.

example:
The purpose is to print A1 paper and divide it into 4 sheets of A3, but there is no dividing line, which is not easy to align cutting and pasting.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.檔案->列印->分散到多張紙上(&H)
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Without dividing the dotted line, it is not easy to align the cutting and pasting.

Expected Results:
Add a boundary dividing line.

Reproducible: Always

The function is "Distribute on multiple sheets of paper" and replicates the output as often as it fits on the paper (in the example the page has a width/height of 0.8cm and is going to be printed on A4).

The request is now to add cutting line along the pages. adslcai, how about doing it yourself by adding a line at right and bottom of the actual page?

"Distribute on multiple sheets of paper" is totally broken. See Apache OpenOffice how it is intended to work.

Workaround: Export to PDF and use the print dialog of Acrobat Reader. There you can determine overlap. Acrobat Reader centers the drawing.

In Apache OpenOffice, the printing has no overlapping parts and starts in the left top of the drawing. If you want to see in the drawing, where the cut will be, I would add a non-printable layer and draw the lines manually.

The topic was on the agenda for the design meeting. There are many ways to achieve the goal and we shouldn't introduce new means that automatically do this. Keep in mind that we have to be ensure cross-plattform and cross-application functionality.

So then this bugreport is a regression and not an enhancement?

This bug report is about additional features for poster printing. But before poster printing is not fixed, it makes no sense to discuss new features for it.

The broken "distribute on multiple sheets" is reported in bug 119470.
