Description wayfinder7@gmail.com 2019-11-14 22:40:49 UTC
Description:
Libre Office 6.3.3 update is unable to open desktop files under any mode except READ ONLY. It is unable to make backup files to the desktop. I have checked and desktop is set with "read only" attribute OFF, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Unsure whether this is a problem with the latest Libre update or the latest Windows update... as they both occurred the same day.

Actual Results:
"The lock file could not be created for exclusive access by LibreOffice due to missing permission to create a lock file on that file location or lack of free disk space."

(I have plenty of free disk space)

Expected Results:
desktop .odt file should open under Libre Office, no hitches

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

It's unlikely this is LO bug. Bug is reproducible and affects many people.
This is likely local issue that you need to solve yourself or with Ask Libreoffice.

seems that you are opening more bugs for the same issue.

It could indeed be the same issue. But as it resulted in a different error code and manifested in a different manner, I filed the two different reports. Since then I have resolved the issue. I'm not exactly sure how it was resolved, but it resolved. Just as a thought: if this "is reproducible and affects many people"... and it didn't affect my other Windows programs (such as Wordpad), the question comes as to why it occurs with Libre Office directly following installation of an update. Might be worth checking out. It may be a "local" issue as suggested, but apparently is a local issue that affects many people. The question to be answered: WHY does it happen?
