Created attachment 156091 [details] Dialog choosing a target in document Currently when we would like to insert a hyperlink with internal target in document, a dialog with the list of slides would show. However if we don't rename our slides all the items in the list would be "Slide 1", "Slide 1 (notes)", "Slide 2", ... etc. Though users _can_ rename their slides but if there are a lot of slides it would be a pain to rename all of them. It would be a pain too when we choose the slide with only "Slide 102" but don't know what the slide 102 actually is. The suggestion from user (also how PowerPoint does it): when choosing the target in document - If the slide has a name other than default "Slide n", use it - If no but the slide has texts in the title frame, use the text instead - If no both above, use the default name "Slide n"
We have some tickets around slide names (and there is the same discussion for Draw): Bug 37654 - UI Slide names no longer visible in Slide Pane / Page Pane Bug 118135 - Unnamed Impress slides should be given meaningful names for PDF Indexes/Bookmarks based on their titles Bug 118136 - "Rename slides" usability and better placeholder names both set as duplicate to (by Timur) Bug 107932 - Export slide outline rather than slide titles in PDF index/outline (don't remember this discussion but slides are not named per title in 6.2.8) So what we actually have to do is to name slides better (don't find the right ticket for this but sure there is one). Alternatively we could show a thumbnail preview of the selected slide somewhere - laborious issue.
