HOW TO REPRODUCE: - Export a moderately large document as EPUB (a document of 300MB is enough) RESULT: - The save dialogue hangs. - The hole system drastically slows down. FIX: - The conversion process should be a background activity. - It shall use the status bar progress bar. RELEVANT INFO: - Email me if you need a specimen document, as the bug tracker hangs while uploading large files.
Alberto, please give us link to your huge file for export to EPUB
The file was destroyed due to: Endless auto-save: Data lost: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129269 Once I regenerate it using a copy I have on Google Drive I will post it here for a month time.

Created attachment 156912 [details] Book.odt In order to satisfy the bug tracker upload file size limit, I have cut the document into the first 50 pages.

I had no problem exporting the file to EPUB and it only took a few seconds. Arch Linux 64-bit Version: 7.0.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 623d6cf06ccba392c1993a3b0ad271d508205e73 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.6; UI render: default; VCL: kf5; Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded Built on 29 April 2020
I also tried with the bigger version I created per bug 129265, but it didn't hang then either.
The storage drive died three months later, so that was the cause. Nevertheless nothing informs that the process is taking place, as the window manager informs that the application isn't responding.
Right, let's adjust the summary.
(In reply to Buovjaga from comment #9) > Right, let's adjust the summary. New sumary sounds to me more like enhancement. I hoe you agree.
