Description Bruce Armstrong 2020-06-04 09:06:56 UTC
Description:
There is no indication that when Writer is exporting to EPUB that the program has not simply crashed. All that you get is a Not Responding message in the top ribbon which makes it appear that nothing is happening. The larger the file being converted, the more disconcerting is the apparent lack of response. However, it is actually converting, but simply doesn't let you know that it is.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Pick a medium sized odt document and tell Writer to export it as an Epub.
2.The program then appears to freeze and the Not Responding message appears.
3.But if you keep waiting, the program will reactivate, and you will find that the EPUB now exists in the target directory.

Actual Results:
No indication that the Export to EPUB function is working. Instead Writer looks to have crashed.

Expected Results:
The bottom ribbon to say Exporting to EPUB and then show a progress ribbon.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Export to PDF does indicate that it is Exporting to PDF and shows a progress ribbon, so this should be a do-able fix.
