Hi! Similar to Calc, a list of media URLs should be visible and changeable.
This is a very minimalistic bug report. Can you please elaborate which problem exactly you would like to report? Please provide a step-by-step description of how to reproduce this bug. If you are referring to another bug report ("similar to calc") please give a reference (bug #) to the other bug report or let us know how to invoke the requested feature in Calc. I am setting this bug report to NEEDINFO for now. Please change it back to UNCONFIRMED once you have provided the requested details.

Hi! In Calc you can get data from other files and get a list of them (to update or close connection to). It would be helpful to have the same in Impress (of course the operations that are possible in Calc are not needed) as: - it can be that the media file is not in the same .odp directory or even on a different drive - so if .odp is saved on an external device and an image is linked nothing shows (it happened to me with some videos: I did not know that these are always linked) Having a list showing: - file URL (eg D:\Dir\file.jpg or D:\Dir\video.mp4) - file type (audio/video) - found/not found along with a button to change the URL for the not found ones would be very helpful. Hope it's clear enough. Anyway attached the pop-up in Calc

This feature is already available in Impress. You can invoke it in exactly the same way as in Calc: "main menu | edit | links to external files". My system here is Version: 6.4.1.2 / Debian testing. Build-ID: 1:6.4.1-1 CPU-Threads: 2; BS: Linux 5.4; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: kf5; de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI lang: de-DE Therefore I am setting this to RESOLVED | NOTABUG..
Oliver, Yes, it's listed in the main menu | edit, but shadowed. I've tried: - on opening and waiting until all previews were visible in the "slide bar" - choosing a slide with a media - clicking on the media in the working area it still stays shadowed. I have Win 7 Pro 64 LO 6.4.1.2 (x64) Build ID: 4d224e95b98b138af42a64d84056446d09082932 Thread CPU: 4; SO: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; Resa interfaccia: predefinito; VCL: win; Versione locale: it-IT (it_IT); Lingua interfaccia: it-IT Calc: threaded
okay, that is indeed strange. I have updated the bug title accordingly. How exactly did you insert the images? using the main menu menu? please provide a step-by-step description for that. In addition, can you please attach an odp file which includes an image where the menu entry is not available?. We can then try to confirm your issue on other systems. Thank you.
Created attachment 158518 [details] File list in Impress. Hi! I used the menu commands, i.e. I did not copy and paste as I want to have the media files in the presentation and not via URL. I send a short copy of the original file. In addition the list should also say if the file is embedded or not.
When I open your file the menu entry for "external links" is also shadowed here on Version: 6.4.1.2 Build-ID: 1:6.4.1-1 CPU-Threads: 2; BS: Linux 5.4; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: kf5; Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI-Sprache: de-DE Calc: threaded After some experimenting I found that - external links are correctly registered for images but - external links are NOT registered for videos --> changing the bug title accordingly
Hi Oliver! ...and why I still have the shadowed command as in the file I set you? I have Win 7 Pro 64 LO 6.4.1.2 (x64) Build ID: 4d224e95b98b138af42a64d84056446d09082932 Thread CPU: 4; SO: Windows 6.1 Service Pack 1 Build 7601; Resa interfaccia: predefinito; VCL: win; Versione locale: it-IT (it_IT); Lingua interfaccia: it-IT Calc: threaded
