I'm sure there is already an bug report about this.

It would be very usefull to define the default line, area and text style for shapes you draw.

For example you draw an shape it's always
- area fill style: light blue 1
- line fill style: dark blue 1
- text style: 18 px

It would be very usefull to define once the shape style and than right click "set as default style" so all you draw after that will have the same style than the stuff you right click.

Set as Default Shape in MSO

would be very usefull to have it in LibO (Draw/Impress).

Yes, but would call it a favorite.

"Set as Default Shape" is the name from MSO. However I don't care about the name as long as I could have this very usefull feature.

Well we have the style sidebar for that things, where you apply current shape style to the selected "Default" style. I don't see a need for this in "context menu" - for example we also don't have something like this for updating the default paragraph style in Writer either.

This is just my opinion and I'm not necessarily against it either.

oh I didn't know that the shapes are styles. That's very interested and cool. Thanks for the feedback. That's really great news for me. So I can make/use Status styles like in calc.

So would it be possible to have styles available with the right click behaviour, like we have them in writer.

I really didn't realize that Standard is the style of the (standard) shape. I thought you can use styles if you want, but by default it's always blue/blue area and line color.
Comment 6 Tomaz Vajngerl 2020-04-14 12:55:42 UTC
The blue color is just the default for a new document. If you want you can create a template and set it as the one that should be used for new documents (default template). With that you can even override what the style for the shape are when you create a new document.

As for the shape styles in context menu, I think it should be possible - in the same way as with character styles and paragraph styles, but I'm not sure exactly. Sometimes all LO modules work the same, then other time writer is special :)

Looking at comment #5 and #6, Andreas is happy as it is now, so lets close as works for me
Comment 8 andreas_k 2020-04-15 19:53:27 UTC
That's not 100 % true. I'm happy, but I will add some content and it would be very usefull to set an shape style as default. So I'm against wfm.

But the request was to change the default, which is covered regarding color in bug 112541. New/better styles are welcome.
