You can give a try at 6.4.3 even if there's slight chance it works.

Would it be possible you attach the file? (of course, if needed, you must sanitize it before, see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bugzilla/Sanitizing_Files_Before_Submission)

LibreOffice calcsheet file

Install LibreOffice 6.4.3 version with the same result : crash when trying to save the file as Excel .xlsx file. No problem with conversion to Excel 97-2003 (.xls).

file in xlsx

No pb to convert it in xlsx with LO 6.4.2

Could you try this:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/FirstSteps
?
Did you install any specific font? If yes, could you disable them and give it a new try?

Finally, if you still reproduce this, could you retrieve extra information? (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport/Debug_Information#macOS:_How_to_get_debug_information)
Comment 4 cyril.langlois 2020-04-19 17:34:14 UTC
I use EB Garamond or Garamond font. Even so, coming back to other fonts (Arial or Liberation Serif) doesn't change anything. More, restarting LibreOffice with the Safe mode is even worst : the file cannot be saved at all (spinning wheel... then nothing).

Argh, I've just noticed now you used Catalina version of MacOs and I know there are some pbs with it.

I think you should read comments from tdf#128233 and tdf#132025 (put in See also). Indeed, they provide some workarounds and this bug seems a duplicate of tdf#128233

Yes, this seems to be a manifestation of bug 132025

As you have installed the French language pack, you need to grant LibreOffice full disk access in System Settings -> Security and Privacy -> Privacy (or similar)

Does that fix it?
