Description Telesto 2020-08-06 09:42:03 UTC
Description:
UI: The opening size of new document window is bit unpreditable

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open LibreOffice start center
2. Go to windowed mode (not maximized)
3. Shrink the Window to some size
4. Open Writer -> Size will the same as Start Center (fine)
5. Press new document (in my case it's full screen). But also have had the opposite, where it was even smaller

Actual Results:
Size of new screens is rather unpredictable

Expected Results:
So consistency? Inherit the size of the window where the new doc is created

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

In this case it works fine, until I get the full screen stuff

On Windows on 7.0 is ok.

From a non-maximised Writer, it started opening maximised Writers for me

Please consider a duplicate to bug 141400 "LO should remember settings of last user session" or bug 41777 "Window size reopening a document not like size when saved".

Well obviously those are in the same area. But those you're referring are restore sessions (documents + window positions). Something I don't really care about :-)

Bug 144408 and bug 135492 (apparently identical, I guess) is about the size of new window when creating a new document from an existing document.

Has nothing to do with restoring a session.

Hi Telesto,

I was able to reproduce the steps you provided. I noticed anytime you reproduce these steps, for the document in Step 5, the window size is the previous window size set. After the first attempt, the program adjusts to the new window size. For example, when I first shrunk the window, the window size of the document in Step 5 was the original window size. Then, when I reproduced the steps a second time but instead enlarged the window, the window size of the document in Step 5 was the previous shrunken document window.

These are the builds I used:
