Description: When moving a chunk of text to elsewhere in the document unintended italics will appear at random points in this chunk. Actual Results: [! impossible to reproduce italics here] Expected Results: roman throughout Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: xx
This reports is poor and surely inadequate. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport You need to give sample and steps. But this is likely a duplicate so first search, or not for bug report but for question at http://ask.libreoffice.org/.
Example file and a screencast would work too..
I added a sample of what is happening all the time. Stage I: I have written a piece of commentary with lemmata in bold type and Latin words in italics. Stage II: I select a fragment of it, which I drag and drop (with the mouse) elsewhere, in this case inserting it in the first sentence. Stage III: The fragment will show up with random letters/words in italics or bold. P.S. The font size is not stable either: sometimes parts will appear in smaller font.
Mind that this does not happen when text is moved using the copy-paste method
Do not change wrong, you seemingly didn't read how to report bug and didn't do as requested, to attach file and give precise steps for that file.
Created attachment 166190 [details] Sample of unintended italics/roman when text is dragged Thanks for pointing out that more information was needed. I can't explain this instabily of fonts when dragged across parts of text that contain italics/roman type.
Excuse me. It's my first time around! You were so fast: I was uploading a sample file.
When bug is Needinfo and you respond, it's written in bug to set back Unconfirmed, not Reopened. Again you give no precise steps like: 1. mark "hoccine meruerunt? ‘is this the reward?’:" 2. move to 1st sentence after "Stylistically," 3. see that text "..." becomes bold.. All that would be clear if you read how to report bug. If bug at all.
As a profi you're no doubt right, but I would plead for some leniency towards a first-time user of Bugzilla ;-). And as far as I can see, the case is clear from the file I attached; I can see you got it right. What could be the case? As a matter of fact, I come from Microsoft Word and am changing to LibreOffice (I used OpenOffice in a distant past), but this never happens in Word. I was astonished, as LibreOffice is so stable, that the editor should have hickups. Have you got any idea?
I do not see waht's the problem, you need to give exact steps.
Created attachment 166197 [details] Screencast Please update to 7.0.2.2 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/ There was a drag & drop losing formatting issue..note remembering when it got fixed. Maybe not in 7.0.0.3
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132892 was about losing formatting.
(In reply to Timur from comment #12) > https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=132892 was about losing > formatting. There is also bug 132892 (dupe). It as least worth a try :-)
After too much talk, we don't have reproducible steps. But advise was given to update to 7.2.2 so I close. If problem repeated, set UNconfirmed, but only with precise steps what to move and where.
