Description: I bring a lot of MS Word documents (*.docx, mostly) home from my work computer. They are all collaborative and contain up to many hundreds of comments. However, I cannot expand or resize the comment boxes in Libre. The comments are unreadable without literally scrolling down, as the automatic text size is far too large and the box size far too small. Here's an example of what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/k0kgP0v.png Is this a known 'bug?' The only threads I could find online were all several years old. I can change the comment text size on a per-document basis, but the default view is unusable for me. Further, changing the font size DOESN'T FIX THE SCROLLING PROBLEM. The software should show all comments in a smaller text box, with a smaller font, without scroll bars, by default. I posted this same problem on Reddit, and they suggested I post an official bug report. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open *.docx document containing many comments and revisions. 2.Comments are formatted extremely poorly. Actual Results: No 'crashes,' just a document that is practically impossible to navigate. Expected Results: Show all comments in a smaller text box, with a smaller font, without scroll bars. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: My documents involve translating from Japanese to English, and commenting in Japanese.
Not clear to me what you need. Comments are probably formatted to larger font, you could use default size. Scroll bars are there if content is bigger than available space, if there are many comments. Not clear about smaller text box etc. But this is so commonly used, that you could have assumed that there must be reported already. Please see bug 141038, bug 103064, bug 73953 and mark as a duplicate.
In that case, I'd like to be able to set Writer to automatically 'import' comments in a much smaller font. As you can see from my image, the font is way too big. And choosing 'Format all comments' a) doesn't fix the scrollbar problem, and b) is something that I don't want to have to do every time I open a document. The scrollbars on comments are REALLY annoying. I need to be able to glance from the document, to the comment, and back again, without performing a whole separate action on the comment, losing my place in the document, and then going back, etc. So they should be expanded to their full length by default, OR at least popup/expand upon a single click if there are too many to fit on the screen at once. But at the moment, neither of these things happen.
Also sorry if this is a duplicate, like I said in the OP the only relevant info I could find was many years old and not sure if it was worth resurrecting the threads. This is my first post here.
