Created attachment 171557 [details] piece of the Cinnamon taskbar with the problematic icon I'm using LO with the Cinnamon desktop environment on GNU/Linux. For a long while already, the taskbar icons have had issues (for me; this was bug 131723). I think some of those have been addressed, or behavior has otherwise changed, so this bug is just about the current state of affairs. Well, if I: 1. Start libreofficedev7.2 --calc 2. On the menu, select File | New | Spreadsheet The taskbar icon for the first document is the green portrait LO icon; the icon for the second document is a gray landscape window icon (see attachment). The first icon is good already after step 1, it doesn't change. Also, if you create additional documents they're also gray. Also, same thing if I create Writer rather than Calc documents (including starting the app with --writer)
No repro in Linux Mint 19 with Cinnamon (and not grouped icons per app).
I'm using: LO Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 0c67217d767baada12587dace9d29b955d50e774 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.10; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: en-US (en_IL); UI: en-US TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@86-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2021-04-26_09:25:26 Calc: threaded On Devuan GNU/Linux Beowulf (so basically Debian Buster), with Cinnamon, and no icon grouping.
This is trivial and not always reproducible. So I will guess it's NotOurBug. If you can explain what can be fine in Lo to change appearance in Debian, please do and then set Unconfirmed.
I highly doubt this is not an LO issue. If _no_ LO window had a proper icon, then that would be a reasonable suspicion. As for triviality - I disagree. It hampers usability and, when it manifests, it is highly noticeable, i.e. it doesn't happen only in some niche usage scenario. And you are constantly reminded of it. I wonder if someone can try this with a plain-vanilla Debian (which Devuan is exactly like except modulo the lack of systemd). If that's attempted and the issue is not reproduced, then by all means mark it as WORKSFORME.
(In reply to Eyal Rozenberg from comment #4) > I highly doubt this is not an LO issue. If _no_ LO window had a proper icon, > then that would be a reasonable suspicion. I have to take this back, because - I've recently seen this occur with BetterBird (the Thunderbird variant): Its icons for message composition windows and message display windows get mixed up on my Cinnamon desktop panel. Yet - other app icons don't exhibit this behavior. Perhaps it is somehow a Gtk-related issue?
