Why not use bug 38261 as the mother of all "f&r with regex" topics?
(In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #2) > Why not use bug 38261 as the mother of all "f&r with regex" topics? Because that one is not a meta-bug, it's super-messy. Also, I'm going to do a bit of cleanup here...
Comment on attachment 180512 [details] revisited description with screenshots what goes wrong I'm marking this attachment obsolete for several reasons: 1. It is originally a document regarding bug 139584, not this bug. 2. We tend to "conduct business" on Bugzilla using Bugzilla comments, not attached documents; those support or complement comments. 3. This is a meta-bug, so we should generally avoid discussion of specific suggestions, requests or bugs - relegating them to dependent bugs. 4. That one document has multiple suggestions and complaints, each meriting its own bug; and some already captured by an existing bug. Adalbert, I'm very appreciative of your work, illustrating problems you've encountered. But we should "chew up" the results of that work into pieces which are digestible by LO developers, QA contributors, and UI/UX people.
This should not block bug 113136 (Find&Replace-Dialog), since there are bugs which regard regular expressions but not the dialog. So, both meta-bugs are relevant - but they are independent. Individual bugs should block either one, or both, as relevant (and I'll go make sure that's the case).
