@Caolan There is overall improvement with you patch regarding to the more regular zoomlevels. But do noticing a wiggle in the example here with extreme zoomlevels. So <50% or >160%
No clue if it matters, but the same content doesn't wiggle in comment box And well if you create a comment box at end of the line the wiggling stops too. Which smells like bug 146078 & bug 140161
FWIW the new exploratory; tools, options, writer, view, glyph positioning: "layout" should give stable positions as seen in the comment box and other editeng cases. Hopefully in the new year we can tackle this

reproducible at 200% for me under windows, the W appears to go backwards on the insert. With new "Layout & Match Render" setting active it's stable.
I think with the new default we can call this one fixed in trunk
