Created attachment 177523 [details] a screenshot just before the moment of reproducing my crash This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is br-64eb8bfc-4262-45d6-a83c-7247440cbe2e. ========================================= EDITING I had four crashes in quick succession while using the Text Import dialog after pasting plain text from a text editor (TextPad) into Calc. The crash occurs the moment that I add "space" to the selected delimiters. The reports are linked here: https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/60d43978-b8b8-447b-86e9-a898cde742a9 https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/64eb8bfc-4262-45d6-a83c-7247440cbe2e https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/af3fd2ba-be55-4982-a15f-198212e8cf95 https://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/033511e3-c450-43e9-a922-9d761c4715a8 Note that the FIRST crash is listed as ScCsvSplits::Insert(long): while the other three are ScCsvSplits::Remove(long):. The only difference from my perspective is that in the first crash I also had multiple Writer windows open, but in the reproductions I was using only Calc. Steps I used to reproduce this crash: 1. open a new spreadsheet in calc 2. copy the text from my text editor to my clipboard. this text appears superficially tab-delimited, but the editor is set to use multiple spaces in place of real tabs. 3. hit ctrl+v to paste into Calc 4. in the Text Import dialog, click on "space" to add spaces to the delimiters being used 5. program crashes immediately I can only make one attachment to my bug report, and chose to make it a screenshot. But here is the text I was pasting, which ends in the middle of the second line after some spaces: 1819 1 collision calculation, both moving, unequal masses 1819 2
I can see that the trailing spaces at the end of my bug report were trimmed by bugzilla. In the text that I pasted, there are seven spaces after the "2", which ends the text when the cursor would be directly under the "c" in "collision".
@SStoneB "I can only make one attachment to my bug report, and chose to make it a screenshot. But here is the text I was pasting, which ends in the middle of the second line after some spaces" You can add the file after the initial bug report. Click 'Add an attachment' It might be useful to have the original file. Tried copy/paste from comment 0, but appears to be working fine
I've tried to reproduce my crash again just now, on a different machine, and the program did not crash. When I'm back in the office again on Tuesday I'll give it another go on that computer to see if it's a persistent problem there vs something that will have been cleared up by a reboot.
