File > Close works like Exit. It closes the program. It should close the file but leave the program open.
I can not confirm with Version: 7.4.0.0.alpha0+ / LibreOffice Community Build ID: bd5492275d31f59b1d269205018d1487af52426f CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 5.11; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: cs-CZ (cs_CZ.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded Jumbo
Thank you for reporting the bug. I can confirm that the bug is present in- Version: 7.3.0.1 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 840fe2f57ae5ad80d62bfa6e25550cb10ddabd1d CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL
deactivate this option: Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View - Use Skia for all rendering Then restart LibreOffice and try the File - Close Now you can't reproduce it. Issue is related to-skia for all rendering
That doesn't change the behavior of Draw. Skia was already enabled. Closing Draw returns you to the main page. I can use it the way it is. From the main page I have to initiate Draw again. It's just inconvenient if there are more than one or two files to edit. Mike
Mike, what onlyshilps suggested is to disable that config item, and see if that helps, which would point this to being an issue related to Skia rendering. If it does, can you please attach your Skia.log, with the method described in bug 142530 comment 7? onlyshilps, please attach yours as well.

This report is not clear to me. "Close closes the program". It's Expected it there was a singe file open, just LO stays open. What exactly is Experienced and Expected here?
(In reply to Timur from comment #9) > This report is not clear to me. > "Close closes the program". It's Expected it there was a singe file open, > just LO stays open. > What exactly is Experienced and Expected here? It's a crash. Onlyshilps, Mike, let me repeat, please attach your Skia.log, with the method described in bug 142530 comment 7. It's a text file.
I set Needinfo for Michael and onlyshilps to attach Skia.log. onlyshilps is Windows 10, Michael should paste it's Help-About.

I have just upgraded from LO 7.2.6 to 7.2.7 If you open a single Calc file in 7.2.6 the second line of the screen ( File, Edit, View menus etc. hads an 'x' close button at the r/h end. On the top line are the standard min/max/close buttons. If you close the file using the 'x' button it closed the file and displayed the main LO Home screen as expected, (the screen which you get if you open LO without specifying a file) In 7.2.7 the 'x' button has disappeared so it is quite easy to absent mindedly shut down the app by clicking on the 'x' button on the top line. A minor irritation if you want to look at another file as you have to restart the app. Interestingly, if you use File/Close you go back to the Home screen as expected. So the problem is that the 'x' button has been removed by mistake. Surely not an intended change.
Martin's screenshot makes this bug clear. I don't reproduce, though, tested LO 7.2.7 with Skia/Raster in Windows 10. With strange bugs, 1st advice is to reset or rename LO user profile folder, please do and report back.
Apologies for slow response. I am not receiving an emails when bug records are updated. If I run in Safe Mode the missing file close icon re-appears. However, after renaming my LibreOffice/4/user folder and restarting LO to create a new profile the file close icon is once again missing. This leaves me somewhat confused if the upgrade has corrupted my user profile or not. Not sure what to do now. In the meantime I have reverted to my old user folder because I have installed an extension to get the Tango icon theme, which was removed in Rel 6.1.
I have upgraded to LO version 7.3.4 and the x' close buttons are no longer missing. I normally stick with the more stable version but no sign of an update to 7.2 so I took a chance and moved to the newer 7.3
So we need confirmation from other users of they have the problem in LO 7.3.

As I reported in comment #16, this bug was fixed a while ago. I am now running 7.3.4.2 and all is file.
All right, since there's been no other feedback, let's consider this fixed. Michael, if the bug you reported persists with LO 7.5, please reopen the bug report.
