hi, it would be logical, it is also necessary, that when selecting a heading in navigator, we would not only be able to move that "chapter", block of text, text under that heading, but also to copy / cut / delete it... but for a good start, being able to select it (the text under the heading) would be suffice... wouldn't it? - - - thanks for developing Libreoffice - - -
Peter, thank you for your proposal. It's already possible to delete text of a "chapter", but AFAIK cut / copy and paste is not possible cc: Design-Team for decision cc: Jim Raykowski for his opinion
Hi Peter, Current LO versions include 'Select' and 'Delete' in the Headings context menu which can be shown by left-click on any heading. 'Copy' and 'Cut' can be done with another left-click in any area of highlighted text in document after 'Select'. Multiple headings can be selected when in the Headings content navigation view, which is a view mode in the navigator that only shows the members of a single content type. The first button on the second line of the navigator tool box will switch between single content and all content views. There is a proposed enhancement to copy outlines/headings here: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/129542 and a screen cast demo here: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=178132
Wonder if Peter asks for copy/cut/paste of the heading only, without the subsidiary headings and paragraphs. Would contradict bug 142447 (Jim's patch in c2) because of the double copy functions - the Navigator is a tool to manage the document structure not single elements. Making this request a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 142447 ***
