Created attachment 180472 [details] Chapter file showing trouble with restart numbering in context menu. The "Restart numbering" of a numbered list does not restart if restart is set by context menu. Step to reproduce: 1) open the attached file 2) Go to page 6. The numbered list below start at number 1 (first list in file) 3) place cursor in first paragraph of the numbered list 4) Context menu -> Lists -> Restart numbering (list still display "1", which is OK) 5) Save file, open file again, go to page 6 inspect restart numbering in context menu Expected result: Restart numbering is set Actual results: checkbox is unchecked. The setting was not saved. Workaround: Open Format -> Paragraph -> Outline and lists. Mark "restart numbering at this paragraph". Setting is preserved between save/load cycle. Note: This annoyance affect numbering when the chapter is inserted in a master document. Note2: The restart done through the Paragraph dialog *must* be set with the start number checked. If the start number checkbox is not set, the restart does not stick.
I can confirm this bug in LO 7.3.3 and LO 7.4. Setting the first numbered list to "Restart Numbering" is not saved to the file when done using the context menu. This issue only happens with the first numbered list in the document. Changing this option in all subsequent lists works fine. The workaround described by Olivier that uses the "Paragraph" dialog does work and "Restart Numbering" is saved to the file. This should also be the case using the context menu, so I'm setting this to NEW. *** Bug 149745 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Coming from bug 149745. As Olivier mentioned in comment 1, problem is not related to context menu. Steps to reproduce (from bug 149745) 1. Open attachment 180980 [details] 2. In first paragraph of the list select "Restart Numbering" 8with context menu or in Format -> Paragraph -> Outline & Lists. Save. 3. Paragraph dialog -> Tab "Outline & Lists": "Restart Numbering" is still selected. 4. Reload Actual result: Paragraph dialog -> Tab "Outline & Lists": "Restart Numbering" is deselected. Expected result: "Restart Numbering" should still be selected (because it works, if you aso select "Start with: 1") 5. In first paragraph of the list select "Restart Numbering" AND "Start with: 1" Save. 6. Paragraph dialog -> Tab "outline & Lists": "Restart Numbering" AND "Start with: 1" are still selected. 7. Reload Actual and Expected result: Paragraph dialog -> Tab "outline & Lists": "Restart Numbering" AND "Start with: 1" are still selected.
