Description peter josvai 2022-10-12 11:06:16 UTC
hi,

terms used as names for functions (functionalities) should be transparent, intuitive logical etc,

"page line-spacing" is not logical enough

to understand this, one has to be very comfortable with styles and formatting concepts... at the level of typography...

as that is not the case for most of us,
using "page level line-spacing" would be 1000x better a solution

"line-spacing" formed like this is already 50% of the road to make!! :)

only just a little bit is missing now :)

a counter-argument: one can learn what this means

a CC-argument: one should not be pushed to quirks mode, saying "apple" when meaning pear... which one can do, sure... but

IMHO it should not have been changed from its 'register true' origin, so not a fan of another round of Bike Shedding.

Anyhow, my "Register line spacing / Reference" pairing as noted in bug 127279 would be the way to adjust should additional change be agreed to.

"Activate 'page level' vs. 'page' line-spacing" sounds not as a big improvement to me. Given Stuart's -1 and the low interest in this idea we should keep it.

Feel free to reopen, however.
