Description Marcin Segit 2022-10-13 14:00:39 UTC
Description:
It is not possible to add words to any dictionary (I jave four different dictionaries) from RMB context menu in Writer when LanguageTool extension is installed. I've checked LT versions from 5.6 to 5.9. There were no problems with LO 7.3. I think the problem started with LO 7.4. Tried some trouble shooting with an existing and a clean user profile without any results.

It is still possible to add a new word to any dictionary from Spellchecking dialog.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install LanguageTool extension
2. Try adding an unrecognized word to any dictionary via RMB context menu "Add to dictionary" - select any of the dictionaries installed.

Actual Results:
The word is not added to a dictionary.

Expected Results:
The word is added to a dictionary.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Once it happened that after installing LT 5.6 Add to dictionary worked briefly but only to first LO restart. In other times the behavior was as described above with any LT version from 5.6 to 5.9.

Checked LibreOfficeDev_7.5.0.0.alpha0_Win_x86-64 from 25-Oct-2022, same thing with the extension installed.
The problem disappears when switched to LanguageTool server solution, however, basic service lacks many grammar rules, so it's not a solution for issues with the extension.

Would anyone be willing to investigate this and come up with a fix? I can provide more information (there are additional issues as a word is added to a dictionary but still not recognized).
