Description: It is currently impossible to insert/associated a footnote into a legend. I'm not sure there is a non-technical reason for this, that is why one shouldn't insert a footnote in a legend. But, for my academical writings, I can see many use-cases for this. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a figure 2. Insert a legend associated with this figure 3. Impossible to insert a footnote in the legend Actual Results: The insert a footnote option is not available when the cursor is in a Expected Results: Possibility to insert/associate a footnote in a legend Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: Maybe there is a document designe related reason for this impossibility, but if it's the case, I'm quite unable to figure it out.
I confirm it with Version: 7.5.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: c21113d003cd3efa8c53188764377a8272d9d6de CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB Calc: CL threaded Same in SafeMode. At least related to (but perhaps duplicate of) bug 48534. But for me clearly a bug and not enhancement request.
(In reply to Jocelyn from comment #0) > But, for my academical writings... By default, the "Insert Caption" dialog adds a frame to contain the image and the caption. But the image and its caption are not required to be in the frame. To get what you want, cut the image and caption out of the frame and paste them into your document; anchor the image to the caption, and delete the frame. Then you can add footnotes to your caption. @Dieter -- I agree that this ticket should be noted as a DUP of bug 48534, which refers to figure captions in the summary. Will mark as DUP, feel free to change it back if you disagree. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 48534 ***
