Description HTK300 2023-08-09 13:36:29 UTC
Description:
Text Box vs. Formatted Field in a DATABASE FORM layout are not consistent laid on a form sheet for due to Control Property [Flat or 3D-look] inconsistencies. See attachments for the layout of database my content that I imported from a CALC sheet.

Steps to Reproduce:
 1. create a CALC sheet with several records (lines)
 2. top line serves as headers for the database file later on
 3. create a new BASE file and import the CALC sheet as a [Table]
 4. within BASE please create a [Form] manually by creating a layout of these Table items
 5. you should vary between the two different elements: Formatted Field and Text Box
 6. change the design of each element so that its BORDER appear with a 3D-look by right clicking on the element
 7. to do this, simply jump to its >Form Controls and change from flat to 3D-look
 8. all elements should appear with a black border line on the top and left edge, and a white border line on the right and bottom edge, which creates this 3 D look (other than the flat look, where all lines around the database element appear to be thin black lines)
 9. save the FORM sheet, close it
10. save the BASE file, make sure both CALC and BASE files are in the same directory
11. open/double click on the base file you just created
12. go to FORMS to have your database layout display and you will realize that
  a) 'Formatted fields' will not revert and keep its Border properties to 3D look
  b) 'Text Box' erroneously will revert to flat properties about its borders

Actual Results:
 1. create a CALC sheet with several records (lines)
 2. top line serves as headers for the database file later on
 3. create a new BASE file and import the CALC sheet as a [Table]
 4. within BASE please create a [Form] manually by creating a layout of these Table items
 5. you should vary between the two different elements: Formatted Field and Text Box
 6. change the design of each element so that its BORDER appear with a 3D-look by right clicking on the element
 7. to do this, simply jump to its >Form Controls and change from flat to 3D-look
 8. all elements should appear with a black border line on the top and left edge, and a white border line on the right and bottom edge, which creates this 3 D look (other than the flat look, where all lines around the database element appear to be thin black lines)
 9. save the FORM sheet, close it
10. save the BASE file, make sure both CALC and BASE files are in the same directory
11. open/double click on the base file you just created
12. go to FORMS to have your database layout display and you will realize that
  a) 'Formatted fields' will not revert and keep its Border properties to 3D look
  b) 'Text Box' erroneously will revert to flat properties about its borders

Expected Results:
12. go to FORMS to have your database layout display and you will realize that
  a) good
  b) 'Text Box' should keep properties about its borders to 3D flat as previously set

Reproducible: Always

All flat

Fields: AVATAR, FORUM, aktiv, Q have reverted to flat border lines, but had earlier been created/safed with 3D- look properties!

Could it be bug 156707?
Comment 9 Robert Großkopf 2023-12-15 16:39:00 UTC
Isn't this the same buggy behavior as reported in bug 156707?

I will mark this one as DUPLICATE. Feel free to reset…

Hi,
just tested this behaviour with LO V24.2.0.0 beta1, but text boxes remain with its properties to revert back to flat, even I edited it as 3D, saved it, reopened the base file.
