Description Alan 2023-09-30 18:00:10 UTC
Description:
Please review attached 33 second video and image file.
video

00:00 to 00:07 With Writer open and envelope displayed, open page style dialog and confirm paper format is #10 envelope

00:07 to 00:10 Close dialog and click printer tool bar icon

00:10 to 00:12 Review Print dialog, note preview is correctly displayed #10 envelope, printer is system PDF printer and Page Layout Paper size is #10 envelope

00:12 to 00:23 Change printer to WF-3620. Note preview changes to Letter paper in Landscape, and Page Layout Paper size changes to Letter.

00:24 to 00:33 Change Page Layout Paper size to #10 envelope. Note that preview changes to Letter Paper in Portrait (not a #10 envelope as expected)

Print the document. Refer to image for result.

If however the PDF printer is used or the Export Directly as PDF option is used a correctly rendered PDF document will be produced. That PDF can then be correctly printed with any PDF viewer on the system.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open Writer
2. select #10 Envelope page format
3. apply addresses to envelope
4. print hardcopy to paper envelope

Actual Results:
only small portion of address printed on envelope

Expected Results:
envelop should print correctly

Reproducible: Always

I can't confirm with

Version: 24.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: ff9c8b62c1015972e9e89799832fa3690dcd46b4
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win

Calc: CL threaded

and Brother MFC-J491 printer. So perhaps printer specific? Do you have the possibility to test with another printer?
Comment 4 Alan 2023-10-15 15:00:53 UTC
Only this one printer, WF-3620, for now.

The two available system PDF printers, the Ubuntu default print to file type pdf, and the CUPS PDF printer both produce correctly formatted PDFs for printing.

And the Write menu option "Export Directly as PDF" produced a correctly formatted PDF so long as the page format is #10 Envelope.

I've just updated to Ubuntu 22.04 (from 20.04) and the printer drivers
from:
epson-printer-utility_1.1.1-1lsb3.2_amd64
epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.7.21-1lsb3.2_amd64

to:
epson-printer-utility_1.1.2-1_amd64
epson-inkjet-printer-escpr_1.8.1-1_amd64

The page size is correctly displayed in the print preview now, and the envelope prints correctly. see attached image print.png
