Description Gerald Pfeifer 2023-10-08 20:50:55 UTC
This is a spin off of bug #156902 where a glow effect being applied to
a group shape (in PPTX) triggered an exception and lead to the contents
of that group shape not being loaded/shown at all.

Regina addressed this by explicitly excluding group shapes, so now they
are shown (again), just without a glow effect.

This report now is about adding the missing feature - glow effect for
group shapes.

Attachment #189129 [details] of bug #156901 is the original example. Gabor's
attachment #189160 [details] of bug #156902 is smaller and probably better.

Glow on Group in pptx

The attached file has on the first slide a group with glow effect on the group. Below is a screenshot of how it looks in PowerPoint. [You need a daily build, otherwise there are no shapes in the group].

The second slide contains the same group. Try this: Select the group, do not enter the group. In the sidebar set glow radius to 36pt. Press Enter-key. Now select a color for the glow. Notice, that the glow is applied to each shape in the group individually. That is _not_ the desired behavior.

The request is, that glow is applied to the group as one entity same as it is done in PowerPoint.

Currently glow does not belong to the properties which are available for groups.
