Description: The user uploaded a pptx file containing a background music. After converting it to PDF using LibreOffice, the file became particularly large. The pptx file size was 30MB, while the PDF file reached 260MB. When I looked at the binary of the PDF, I saw that many copies of the binary starting with 'fLaC' were copied. It seems that after exporting to PDF, each page copied an audio file, but the audio file is useless in PDF. Can this be removed when exporting? I tried Microsoft Office and OpenOffice, and they should have removed the audio file when exporting, with an export size of only 160KB Steps to Reproduce: 1.open a pptx file 2.export to pdf Actual Results: When exporting pptx as PDF, the file size is too large Expected Results: Make the PDF file size normal Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: nothing
Please attach a sample file, reduce the size as much as possible without private information, and paste the information in Menu/Help/About LibreOffice, there is a copy icon.
It seems we need the sample file indeed. I downloaded a random 49 MB FLAC file, added it to a presentation and exported it to PDF. The file size was just some kilobytes. I even first saved to pptx and reloaded. Arch Linux 64-bit Version: 25.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 47fbbd7c6b9ea6b4a20f05fdf8870cb9e125fb21 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.10; UI render: default; VCL: kf6 (cairo+wayland) Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded Built on 28 August 2024
I tried to attach the file, but its size exceeds 30000 kb, and I cannot reduce its size by deleting some pages because it contains a media file that exceed 30000 kb
I uploaded the file to onedirve, you need to change the file extension to pptx after download. The link is https://1drv.ms/u/s!AptZN8_yVerLiQzeXnO2I6lFtiDl?e=s6ZQ6x

The link is > https://1drv.ms/u/s!AptZN8_yVerLiQzeXnO2I6lFtiDl?e=s6ZQ6x Thanks. Strangely, I reproduce with bibisect repositories back to 5.2, but *not* with the release build of 24.8! Can you try with 24.8? An appimage might work for you: https://www.libreoffice.org/download/appimage/ I'm setting to NEW because I still see this with the latest of 24.8 and 25.2 bibisect repos.
I don't know why the bug description changed to version 5.2, in fact, the version I am using on my linux server is LibreOffice 24.2.0.3 420 (Build: 3). I just tested it on my personal computer using 24.8.0 and the same issue exists(In reply to Buovjaga from comment #5) > (In reply to wxy from comment #4) > > I uploaded the file to onedirve, you need to change the file extension to > > pptx after download. My bad: I had a setting activate to *only* export notes pages in my 24.8.

I tried to install version 24.8 on Linux server, but had some trouble. Then I installed version 24.8 on my Windows computer, the bug still exists

So isn't this a bug? How can I activate this setting? I converted it to PDF through the command line,I think this should be the default setting
