Description Dieter 2024-08-14 09:28:47 UTC
Steps:
Open Tools -> Options -> LibreOffice -> Online Update

There is no information about option "Automatic Update" at help page [1]. Feature is non-experimental since LO 24.8.

What exactly is missing? The Help page shows all information needed.

I disagree. Last information is about "User Agent", but in the options dialog is a new option "Automatic Update". I assume it is related to the release notes: "The MAR-based automatic update available on TDF Windows builds is no longer experimental-mode--only. See Tools ▸ Options ▸ Online Update ▸ Automatic Update. (Stephan Bergmann, allotropia)". Since it seems to be present only in Windows you perhaps don't see it, if you use Linux.

Yes, this option does not exist in linux.

I got fooled because the option dialog page hid the last option. I had to enlarge the dialog to see it. Weird.

(actually the page deserves a design review, IMHO. It may confuse user with "online update" and "automatic update". But that is another issue)

Yes, it confuses me. And this is one reason, why I missed information in LO Help.
