Description POV 2024-09-16 08:44:26 UTC
Description:
Conditional formatting with icons no longer works properly in version 24.8.1.2 and version 24.8.0.3. The option to select = , < , > , >= or <= appears to have been newly added. In older versions, e.g. version 24.2.3.2, only >= is possible and preset. In older versions, e.g. version 24.2.3.2, it is easy to set number ranges that are marked with certain symbols. This also works initially in the newer versions. However, after saving and reopening the file, the setting of whether = , < , > , >= or <= was selected is not adopted and is always interpreted as =. Older files that were created with earlier versions and had the >= setting there are now interpreted as if = had been set. This means that it is no longer possible to set number ranges and new and older files are not displayed or saved correctly. I have the error on various systems, both Windows and various Linux distributions.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a cell and enter a number
2. Choose Format - Conditional - Icon Set
3. Set a condition with >= sign, e.g. for 3 colored arrows
4. Confirm with OK
5. Save the document and open it again
--> Symbol for number is not displayed correctly
6. Right-click on number and select "Conditional formatting"
--> Condition is displayed with =

Actual Results:
The conditional formatting symbols are not displayed correctly because the condition is interpreted incorrectly or saved incorrectly. (with =, instead of >= or the respective setting)

Expected Results:
The condition should be interpreted correctly. For older files where no selection was possible, always with >=, for newer files where something was selected, also what was selected.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I did not reset my pser profile, but the error occurs on 5 independent computers with different operating systems (Windows 11, Linux Mint 21.3, Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 12, Manjaro Linux 24.08) and different desktop environments (XFCE, Cinnamon, Gnome, Plasma, Windows). However, it does not occur in an older version of Libre Office.

Thanks for reporting this issue.
It looks like a duplicated of bug 162938
