Description Albert Acer 2024-09-16 13:49:54 UTC
Description:
When I am working in LO Wrtiter 24.8.1, Spanish version, I find an untranslated string, under the “Insertar” Menu ---> Sub-Menu “Nota al pie y final”, as we can see in the screenshots attached with this report.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LO Writer 24.8.1, Spanish version
2. Click on the “Insertar” Menu.
3. Select the option “Nota al pie y final”.
4. On the right side, look for the string “Insert Special Footnote/Endnote”, as
indicated in screenshot 01 accompanying this report.

Actual Results:
The string “Insert Special Footnote/Endnote” appears in English and not in Spanish as it should be.

Expected Results:
Weblate should put the Spanish translation for the mentioned string

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I could reproduce this.

Keeping in mind that when executing the command, LibreOffice gives us two options: either insert a special note in the footer, or insert a special note at the end of the page,

I suggest:
Insertar nota especial al pie o al final
Or,
Insertar nota especial al pie/final

However, it is preferable to also wait for Adolfo to express his opinion because there are several ways to express this in Spanish.

Comment 6 Albert Acer 2024-09-17 16:34:19 UTC
I correct a little what I expressed in Comment 4:

By running the command, LibreOffice Writer gives us two options:
Insert a special footnote or insert a special endnote.
Comment 7 Albert Acer 2024-09-17 16:52:10 UTC
If I'm correct:
Footnotes are placed at the bottom of the page, while endnotes are placed on a page at the end of the document.

That would be the difference between the two

Follow-up note

This bug is still being reproduced in the Spanish LO 24.8.X branch. We still do not see a solution for this in this new branch.
