Hi, this is not a bug but a very coool - and highly useful! - Feature proposition! Here we go: Does LibreOffice Writer have the possibility to open multiple tabs within a single file, similar to how spreadsheets allow you to create new sheets via single tabs displayed at the lower bottom of the screen? The idea is, for example, while writing a book or a report, to create and be able to switch between chapters using tabs within a single Writer file. That would be really amazingly cool!!!!!! :) Cheers to the Community and thank you for your great contributions!
There is a feature that may offer similar functionality. While it doesn't use tabs, if you organize your document by headings or sections, you can use navigator to jump to different places within your document. See the link here for more information: https://ask.libreoffice.org/t/how-do-i-view-the-heading-and-subheadings-on-the-left-pane-like-in-mswords/32070 Does this address your ask?
Thank you very much for your response and suggestion. This can help, but the feature I described (and that is simple and straightforward for users as a standalone feature) would be an amazing added-value for anyone needing to write a report, an essay or a book, and it could be a differentiator with the other major similar softwares. IBM Lotus Symphony Doc had something close as it was displaying tabs on a row in the top, each tab representing a file (text, calc or ppt) ==> see on this link the mentioned upper row: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7FoVQ8_6sg&t=875s ==> Taking the same but the tab representing instead a Chapter within a Writer file would be great. Note: IBM Lotus Symphony was merged with Open Office when IBM stopped its development in 2012, if I am right.

Indeed, I do confirm that the bug number corresponding to my request is actually the number #33173. The idea is to have "Tabs for sections and divisions within THE wordprocessing document file ITSELF". Of course it is probably a question of file format. But why not creating a different file format, even if not standardized at the begining, so that at least this feature becomes technically possible? Even if LO is the only one to do it and even if not compatible directly at the beginning with other solutions? We must start somewhere, no? It would just be another file format added to LO even if not the main, central format by default... And even if Beta and labelled like this? (Note: Google kept the Beta label on Google Maps even as recently as 4 years ago or so if I am right...). Like very well explained in the following blog article written 4 days ago: https://interestingauthors.com/blog/technology/libreoffice/ Thank you!
