I'm also unable to reproduce in:

Version: 24.8.3.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 480(Build:2)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.11; UI render: default; VCL: kf6 (cairo+wayland)
Locale: pt-BR (pt_BR.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Ubuntu package version: 4:24.8.3-0ubuntu0.24.10.1
Calc: threaded

I followed the steps from bug 164672 (as well as the provided sample file) and did not get the crash.

Also no crash in

Version: 25.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 301186ffa2921ee3e66b9c066c4bc823038e5cd3

The version of Libreoffice that I (The author of the duplicated bug) and the author of this bug has is the same and it is `24.8.4.2` and the bug still happens every time. If a crash dump can help you, please point me on how to generate and send a crash dump properly for you.

The versions in your comments are `24.8.3.2` and `25.8.0.0.alpha0+` which are before or after our version, so maybe it is a bug introduced in our version and later got fixed? Please try again with version `24.8.4.2`.

I use the latest version provided by Arch repository `extra/libreoffice-fresh 24.8.4-2` and here you can find their build script if it helps: `https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/libreoffice-fresh`

A test file exist in my duplicated bug report (https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164672 )

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Comment 8 Robert 2025-01-26 18:32:03 UTC
In fact, it's not just clicking that causes the crash, but selecting text with the keyboard within a bulleted list will also crash the application, making it basically unusable. :-(

A slightly different example of the text-select crashing issue.

I'm also able to replicate this issue, but with a few additional notes:

  * In the case of the document that first triggered this issue for me, the same issue also applies when selecting text from second-level bullet points (cut-down version of this document attached).

  * The issue only appears to apply if I begin and end the selection within the affected levels (second and third). If I start to select text from the second/third level point (using mouse click/drag) but end the selection somewhere else (e.g. in the first level) then I don't see a crash.

  * The issue also appears to occur in safe mode.

Comment 12 J Parker 2025-01-28 16:42:43 UTC
As reported by BogdanB, I am not able to replicate the issue after updating to prerelease version 25.2.0.3.

Version: 25.2.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.13; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3

Calc: CL threaded
Comment 13 Waleed Mortaja 2025-02-08 07:04:30 UTC
LibreOffice 25.2.0 has been released.
The issue seems to be fixed in this version, I cannot replicate the issue anymore.
