Created attachment 198679 [details] ooo104638-1.doc: 4 empty line gap showing on first page in between lines of "Text" I'm seeing supposed-to-be-hidden empty paragraphs in many example DOC files. Another clear example is Test.doc (attachment 136513 [details] from bug 112616), which has line numbering turned on - easy to visually see the problem there too. Note: to see hidden text, turn on Tools - Options - Writer - Formatting Aids - Display Formatting: Hidden characters. Then Ctrl-F10 (View - Formatting Marks) Steps to reproduce: -open ooo54439-2.doc Notice the 4 line gap. View Formatting Marks reveals "Start of hidden text" and "End of hidden text". This started in 25.2 (and backported to 24.8.3) with commit 7b8cec8322b60673e686660caf875bc71117bbd0 Author: Michael Stahl on Date: Tue Sep 24 19:06:55 2024 +0200 tdf#162268 sw: ApplyParagraphMarkFormatToEmptyLineAtEndOfParagraph https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/173880 I thought perhaps it might be side-effect fallout related to META bug 125905, but when I tried to quickly revert caolan's commit it didn't help. Many more examples could be provided. Found by Collabora's mso-test
Created attachment 198699 [details] 164800_abi6408.zip: doc, PDF, and visual change. RES=25.2 master, BLUE=25.2 oldest, grayscale=Word2019 This is an interesting example. In some ways mstahl's commit improved things by adding space, but too much space has been added. Specifically noticed points 1 and 4 (and 10).
Created attachment 198761 [details] kde143030-1B.doc: a minimized version of an example bug I saw There are dozens, if not hundreds of additional examples I could provide. Some, like a page of labels now followed by an empty page, seem to come from a common template. They are often seen before or after a table.
Created attachment 198762 [details] abi6637-1.doc: another clear example where a hidden paragraph between table rows is now showing
