Description: Under the new light theme introduced in LO 25.2.0.3, the background application colour is too dark: - new colour (25.2.0.3): 1644825 (decimal). - old colour (24.8.4.2): 15790320 (decimal). This problem only occurs when Windows is in dark mode and I force the light theme in LO. For esthetic reasons, I do prefer using Windows in dark mode, though I keep most of my programmes in light mode. To get the original, lighter colour, I need to switch Windows to light mode, and then in LO, I have to select the automatic theme, because, if I select the light theme, the colour remains too dark. Steps to Reproduce: 1. In Tools > Options > Appearance, you select 'Light Mode'. 2. You restart LO. Actual Results: The application background colour is too dark, fit for the dark theme, but not for the light theme. Expected Results: The application background colour should 15790320 (decimal), as it was until 24.8.4.2. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Version: 25.2.0.3 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: e1cf4a87eb02d755bce1a01209907ea5ddc8f069 CPU threads: 16; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (10.0 build 26100); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: es-ES (es_ES); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded

As my version information says 'UI render: Skia/Vulkan' and your info says 'Skia/Raster', I've tried something. I have enabled 'Force Skia software rendering' and suddenly I get the old, lighter colour. And even if I disable it again, the colour stays. I've noticed other minor issues regarding themes, so hopefully the feature will get more and more polished as new versions come along.
Perhaps updating the graphics driver from, directly from the vendor, could help.
My drivers are fully updated. By changing the aforementioned setting, I found a way to make things work until a future release.
@David Garcia, interested in your different color result between Skia Vulkan vector accelerated and the Skia raster software framing modes. Had you enabled any of the bundled themes [1]? Now present at Tools -> Options -> Appearance "LibreOffice Themes" using the 'Add more themes' button? Or were you just using the Radio Buttons against the default "Automatic" theme without having activated one of the new color themes? =-ref-= [1] currently four bundled "Light Application Colors", "Office 2003 Blue Theme", "Dark Gray Theme", or "Lime Theme"
The Skia facet really just being the toggle needed to fully assert the os/DE color themes. While adding and enabling one of the two LibreOffice themes at 25.2 in addition to the default Automatic should behave a bit better. Try the "Light Application Colors" and the 'Light', 'Dark' radio buttons. Instead of the "Automatic" with 'System', 'Light', or 'Dark'. And if you need to reset back to defaults, delete or rename your LibreOffice user profile in %AppData% And, testing recent nightly builds of master against 25.8 (with /a installs and edits of the bootstrap.ini to isolate) would be helpful to fully suss out any actual Skia related color handling.
Thanks for your comments. My report refers to the automatic theme. When I encountered the problem, I tried the Light Application Colour theme, but the scroll bars aren't visible: it all looks white, though when you hover the mouse on the area and click, the scroll bar is there. I like the fact that you can customize every colour of a particular theme, but it's also time consuming, and I was just hoping to make the 'standard', automatic theme work. I did reset LO back to default, but I did it through 'Restart in safe mode'.
OK, seems ability to change between the Appearance System/Light/Dark modes is resolved on master against 25.8. You can now apply (i.e. force the restart) for change between Automatic theme System/Light/Dark, and you can assign a color value other than automatic to document or application color. Though I do see an issue with scroll bar fg (their "thumbs") and bg (the bar) not being visible (both are a white from some automatic value) in the Automatic mode's 'Light' mode radio button. Before any appearance theme is applied, and also with the 'Light Application Color' theme. Skia libs Vulkan or raster frame mode does not change that in any way for the Automatic 'Light' RB mode. @Sahil, do you want a separate BZ issue now for the scroll bar color(s) in Automatic and the Light Application Color themes? =-testing-= Version: 25.8.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 7a9e303d0ffad7b83beccfe1918f962d2de04a37 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10 X86_64 (build 19045); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
