Bug 165131 has discussion that appears to finally identify the issue as bug 153131. Bug 165131 comment 6 says (In reply to cyrussanii23 from comment #6) > My mistake....I hadn't logged out/rebooted after setting the ENV variable. > I have now re-added the variable and done a full reboot. > I can now start Calc from the menu and Cut-N-Paste with no issues. > > I have always had Windows Speech Recognition OFF as well as Voice Access. > > So, as you suspected, the accessibility variable is the solution for me. > > Thanks for all the help and quick action on this! ...which refers to adding SAL_ACCESSIBILITY_ENABLED=0 as an environment variable. Here's how to do it: https://www.howtogeek.com/787217/how-to-edit-environment-variables-on-windows-10-or-11/ Does that solve it for you as well?
Please try: 1. Open Settings system applet -> Accessibility -> Speech; 2. If you have "Voice Access" disabled, then try to enable it, and then disable. If it's already enabled, disable it. 3. Check if that helps. It is likely a duplicate of bug 153131 (just like bug 165131). It seems that the frequency of this issue would increase, since accessibility support is auto-enabled in new versions.
Created attachment 199083 [details] shows options Windows Settings>Accessibility Shows what I see for options in Windows Settings>Accessiblity. No option for SPEECH listed.
Are you showing your browser settings, as opposed to Windows settings?
Right you are. I located proper place and will try setting and unsetting SPEECH option. Then try to reinstall newer LO version and keep fingers crossed. Thanks for clearing that up.
Thanks, Mike K. for suggestion. OLD version LO >> 24.8.4.2 NEW version LO >> 25.2.0.3 I went to Windows>Accessibility>Speech and turned on Voice Access (which was off) then switched OFF again. Loaded new version LO but same problem in CALC, When COPY section it seems to appear as normal but then when try to go to new cell to paste I get no response. Have to use END TASK to close program. Used Revo Uninstaller to remove NEW version and then reinstalled OLD version. CALC seems to work as normal. I found that using REVO program evidently removed more files than just the UNINSTALL PROGRAM option and my ADD-ON History Manager was missing. I reloaded the ADD-ON but all the saved list of recent files was cleared and had to find files and reload.

Ok, but in bug 165131 comment 6, the reporter says "I have always had Windows Speech Recognition OFF as well as Voice Access" and the issue was only solved by adding the environment variable like I described in my comment 1 and rebooting the system.
Yes, please follow comment 1. My comment 2 was intended to check if bug 153131 comment 62 is also working.
Created attachment 199090 [details] Environment Variable panel and proposed added variable
Created attachment 199091 [details] proposed new environment variable
(In reply to J.R. MITCHELL from comment #9) > Created attachment 199090 [details] > Environment Variable panel and proposed added variable Did the problem go away with that addition?
I had asked previously if the proposed added environment variable as shown in brief part of Comment#1. Wanted to be sure if I was to add this to the System Variables (as opposed to User Variables) in the Environment Variables panel. Not sure what effect this variable addition will have on other programs other than LO and wanted to verify the one I was debating on adding (as shown in attachment) is correct. Was not sure of the "SAL" in the name was needed. After I get some agreement on the proposed I can finish that and will probably wait a bit before loading the new version of LO as new test. Cumbersome process of removing new program and reloading old one has been taking too much of time needed for other chores with need for the routines in LO.

Was not sure of the "SAL" in the name was needed. It will not have any effect on other programs. The SAL in the name is there exactly to ensure there will be no unexpected conflicts with other variables. It is like a namespace.
(In reply to J.R. MITCHELL from comment #12) > Wanted to be sure if I was to add this to the System Variables (as opposed > to User Variables) in the Environment Variables panel. Both options are fine. (If you set as a user variable, it will only apply for your user account, if you set as a system variable it will also apply for any other user accounts on your computer, i.e. if somebody else logs in.)
Bug 153131 was fixed yesterday. A new Win build appeared today, you can get Win-x86_64@tb77-TDF to test: https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/current.html
MIKE, thanks for the info and answers to my question about the new Environment Variable to be added. I added the variable as described in the System Variable section so it will apply to all the LO routines. Restarted the PC and checked that the new variable was in place. Then I re-installed the LO vers 25.2.0.3 (rather than the new trial version you noted), tried a CALC file and was successful using COPY and PASTE now. Everything seems to be back to normal. Thanks for the effort and explanations. You can mark this bug as fixed for me.
Thanks for the feedback. Closing as duplicate of tdf#153131. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 153131 ***
