proposal

Math module (formula editor) has 2 available panels:
- elements
- font properties

There is no need to not show them at once - making hard to find the font properties.

I propose to show them all in single panel. Moreover it would be useful to make buttons stacked in vertical direction - a toolbar / horizontal box.

Proposed 2 panels in one deck in the attachment.

No, they are currently two independent Sidebar Decks.

They could possibly be merged as Content panels on a single SB deck as shown, but don't see any real advantage to doing so.

I'd rather see the Properties deck further developed, e.g. for working with the OLE formula in other modules, and integrate the sm Symbols dialog with the svx Special Character dialog for picking out glyphs for formula symbols from alternate fonts.

let me explain how I come to that idea:
- I opened formula editing mode (double click)
- I wanted to change font size
- There is no quick option for that
- I spent some time to find that there is another deck.. wasn't my first place to look

I think it helps to:
- discover/find that feature
- reduces number of clicks needed

Me too, has been discussed in bug 125931.

The goal is to have a full-fledged properties tab [1] and the elements tab. The workflow to change the font is different than assembling a formula and a one-off action. There is no good reason to merge the tabs.

=> NAB/WF or DUP

[1] Sounds like a good GSoC project. Do you want to mentor?

ok, I see there is more detailed ticket.
So closing as dup.
