I'm using an LO nightly from yesterday and starting in Safe Mode.

In the first-startup dialog, in the Appearance pane, there's an "Apply" button. Now:

* If you set a bitmap background and press Apply - nothing happens.
* If you switch from Light to Dark in the top drop-down listbox - the change is instantaneous, no Apply necessary. 
* The "Enable application theming"... well, I don't even know if that does anything or not. Nothing I can notice anyway.
* "Use white document background" and press Apply -nothing happens.
* Switching icon themes - applies instantly.

What's more interesting, that switching from Light to Dark, or switching the icon theme, also applies the background bitmap choice en passant.

Guess this will be solved with bug 166870.

But I'm pretty sure I didn't install a theme. Are you sure?
