Description: Updated from Version 7.x.x.x to 25.2.4.3. System Appearance changed from just fine to reverse making my documents appear as white text on black background, which is not useful to me. Found the Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View. Found it set to 'System'. Changed that to Light, which is not the same as a I had, but tolerable. The issue is changing back to System or to Dark do not work and the text boxes in the dialog boxes no longer have contrasting colors and are unreadable. Steps to Reproduce: 1. In description 2. 3. Actual Results: In description Expected Results: In description Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: First, appearance should not have changed on update to 25.x from 7.x. Second, the settings for appearance should work and the dialogs should be readable.
Try modifying the theme twice in Menu>Tools>Options>LibreOffice>Appearance.
At 25.2 you need to install the "Light Application Colors" theme extension, apply and restart. It is in the 25.2 release notes [1]. Additional theming rework in progress for 25.8 release. =-ref-= [1] https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/25.2#Application_Theming
