Description steven.misshula 2025-08-07 15:15:16 UTC
Description:
In my previously used version of Libre Draw (7.4.4 x64) I was able to have multiple slides in a file (example 45 or 50) and while working on a slide be able to use the arrow keys on my keyboard to navigate the slide.

This would work with both LEFT & RIGHT as well as UP & DOWN.
The navigation was smooth and meaningful in it's distance covered (meaning it did not move too fast in a direction nor too slow nor did the slide "jump" in a direction).

Now, in my recent upgrade it seems if I'm zoomed out sufficiently (let's say 50-80%) the LEFT / RIGHT motion seems reasonable, but the slide "jumps" low, so that i only see the bottom portion of the slide - even if i started off centered on the slide.

Now, it also seems that the UP / DOWN action is wildly off. Starting at center on the slide, one click either UP or DOWN will move the slide to the bottom of the slide. There is no "smooth navigation" in the desired direction.

This is experienced regardless of settings on scale:
( Tools > Options… >LibreOffice Draw > General > Scale )

It is the same experience at 100:1 , 1:1 , 1:100

Machine Info:
Processor	AMD Ryzen 5 3400G with Radeon Vega Graphics (3.70 GHz)
Installed RAM	32.0 GB (29.9 GB usable)
System type	64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Edition	Windows 11 Home
Version	24H2
Installed on	‎3/‎26/‎2025
OS build	26100.4652
Experience	Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.128.0

"Safe Mode" option
P.S. maybe move that up to the top of this form?

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Libre Draw
2. set slide properties to 23x23 inches
3. copy slide
4. paste 35 times
5. attempt arrow key navigation.

Actual Results:
same as bug description
however noticed this wasn't the case when using just the first slide (meaning navigation was smooth and as expected in all directions)

Expected Results:
same as bug description.

Reproducible: Always

Can reproduce.

I'll note that on pages closer to the beginning, attempting to navigate with arrow keys snaps the view to the top of the slide instead; in pages around 50% through the slides, the view will snap to the middle. On the last few slides, the view will go to the bottom and navigating upward doesn't move the slide until after several seconds of holding the up key.

Hi - Thanks for looking at my bug.

Since I reported it, i tried things in the current version of OPEN Office (4.1.15) and attempted with the same approach. With either one slide or 50, arrow keys for navigation work without problem as they did in Libre Draw 7.4.4

Just thought i would mention this as a reference point
(apologies if this is useless info.)

Cheers!
Steve
