Hey Danat,
I am confirming that it is still in version

Version: 26.2.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 620(Build:0)
CPU threads: 32; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (build 26100); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US
Calc: CL threaded

and I do agree it can be a bit of an eye sore.

Thank you. I think we should collect opinions of people. Maybe if they are divided in 2 camps - people who like it and people who don't - it could be made optional in the settings. Is there anyone who can help make a survey? I have no friends who use LOffice, so I have no one to ask

Samuel did some related work in bug 73953, so let's ask what he thinks.

Tested on Windows 11, on both LO 25.8.2.2 with Skia enabled && 26.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x86_64) / LOdev

It seems that the comment sidebar in my build does not support expand/collapse. The downward arrow control only opens the context menu on both left and right click.

Because of this I cannot trigger the sidebar resize that causes the page shift.

Only commenting for sake of triaging process.

This is strange. How come do we have exactly same apps on exactly same systems and you can't repro a feature that we have?

This is how comments are in Google Docs. Maybe the same can be replicated in LOffice
