Description: In File-> Recent Documents, there can be a provision to pin documents which are used often. This will avoid opening the Open file dialog and navigating through the folders for documents which are opened often. Actual Results: Expected Results: Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info:
Already implemented as for bug 38742 at the 7.6.0 release. "Push Pin" for an existing document shown on the StartCenter will reposition to tp of the Start Center thumbnail views and to the top of the 'Recent Documents' *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 38742 ***
Pinning can be done from the start center and works nicely. However, if I am working on calc and need to pin the document and continue working, there is no option to do this from the calc file menu. If the pinning (and unpinning) is possible in the recent documents menu directly, it would be convenient.
OK, agree a Files -> Recent documents menu entry "Make the current document a favorite" as is suggested [1] remains an outstanding follow-up to the Start Center pushpin implementation. =-ref-= [1] https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38742#c22
Absent work on bug 77590 to allow return/open of the Start Center backingwindow from an active module to access the thumbnail views, this addition of a menu entry to "pin" via MRU menu listing remains a needed enhancement.
-1 to add a menu entry for a command "Pin current document". It's not easy to understand, clutters the menu, and the provided workflow is sufficient. Essentially I disagree with a _need_ for pinning from active documents.

As if the clunky "pushpin" motif on the Start Center is any more intuitive? With the added annoyance that one *can not access it* with any other LO module open, while the File -> Recent documents menu (aka MRU) is *always* available to UI via menu.
Created attachment 203862 [details] excel recent documents menu MS excel seems to have this since 2010 version (sample snapshot attached).
