Description richard 2025-11-11 17:38:21 UTC
When trying to start recent releases, installed via msi of Libreoffice, including both 25.8.2 and 25.2.7, on launch the app fails with "unable to start correctly 0xc00007b".

This only occurs on the aarch64 build, the amd64 build works fine. This is on a Microsoft Surface Laptop 7th ed, running on a Snapdragon X1E80100.

Please look for the Google answer about

The
0xc00007b error typically occurs because of missing or corrupt system files, compatibility issues (like running a 32-bit app on a 64-bit system), or problems with programs like DirectX or Visual C++ Redistributable. To fix it, you can try reinstalling the application, running it as an administrator, or reinstalling necessary components like DirectX and Visual C++ Redistributable packages.
Initial checks
Restart your computer: A simple restart can often resolve temporary glitches.
Run as administrator: Right-click the application's shortcut and select "Run as administrator" to ensure it has the necessary permissions.
Check for 32-bit/64-bit incompatibility: This error commonly happens when trying to run a 32-bit application on a 64-bit system. If this is the case, you may need to find a 64-bit version of the application.

Thanks. I've done these steps and no luck, with the exception of reinstalling the visual c++ redistributable as I cannot download it successfully from Microsoft. In addition I do not seem to be getting this error with any other applications.

Regarding bitness, this error only occurs when running the aarch64 windows build on aarch64 hardware. I can run the x64 build through emulation just fine. It would be useful to see if anyone else is able to reproduce this error, as I only have one aarch64 windows computer available to me.
