Description: When EDITING a cell, I have a "double cursor" - one (the real one) at the position which will actually be changed when I enter sth., and another one 1 or 2 positions left to this. When moving in the cell, the cursor and this one-left-shadow move together, with 1 or 2 positions between them. When I move the real cursor to the very beginning of the cell to the left, the "shadow cursor" is shown left outside the real cell. THis is NOT seen when in save mode (user profile reset), but back when in regular mode again. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start Calc in normal mode 2.Calculate something 3.Start EDITING one of these cells where values are entered (F2) ==> it shows (with me) this shadow cursor. Actual Results: When editing a cell I see a shadow curser, which is confusing Expected Results: See / show only the actual cursor position in a cell Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: Yes Additional Info: Version: 25.8.3.2 (X86_64) Build ID: 8ca8d55c161d602844f5428fa4b58097424e324e CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (build 26200); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: de-DE (en_DE); UI: en-GB Calc: CL threaded

Hello Gerd Herrmann, Thank you for reporting the bug. I was unable to reproduce the bug following your instructions. This issue may only be present when running on Windows 11, as I did test with the same version but on Windows 10. I am leaving this as UNCONFIRMED so another tester may be able to test it again on Windows 11. Version: 25.8.3.2 (X86_64) Build ID: 8ca8d55c161d602844f5428fa4b58097424e324e CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10 X86_64 (build 19045); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win Locale: en-US (en_US); UI: en-US Calc: CL threaded
Remark: Can`t confirm by myself the same error on another windows machine (or Linux, for that matter). Reported machine runs Windows 25H2, machine NOT showing "double cursor" runs 23H2. Maybe it would be a good practice to ask for the specific Windows version rather that "Any Windows".
(In reply to Gerd Herrmann from comment #3) > Remark: Can`t confirm by myself the same error on another windows machine > (or Linux, for that matter). > > Reported machine runs Windows 25H2, machine NOT showing "double cursor" runs > 23H2. Maybe it would be a good practice to ask for the specific Windows > version rather that "Any Windows". In the machine that shows the issue, does it make a difference, if you deactivate this option: Tools - Options - LibreOffice - View - Force Skia software rendering?
Re: disable Skia software rendering: YES, that solved it. Once it was OFF, that weird error did not occure. When switched back on, the "double cursor" appears again.
