This is a spin off from Bug 33156!

Behaviour of Menu 'Insert > Movie and Sound' is inconsistent. For pictures and OLE objects you can select whether you want to link or embed the object,movies and sounds only can be linked.

It's solved by now
One of commits is:

It works in currently supported versions (4.1 and 4.2)
