Selecting File -> Print -> Page Layout -> Brochure changes 'Paper Orientation' to 'Landscape' (which is the correct behaviour) and 'Paper Size' to 'Legal' (which is incorrect - it should be left as is) The workround is to manually change 'Paper Size' back after any use of the Page Layout dialogue in Brochure mode. For example, if you print 'Front Sides / Right Pages', and then select 'Back Sides / Left Pages', you must reset 'Paper Size' before pressing 'Print'. Annoying.
@ John McCreesh: Can you please check whether my comment in Bug 34458 - PRINTING brochures does not respect paper size from settings can help you to contribute some more information, so that we will get some progress with your problem?

Bub still present in 3.1.1
(In reply to comment #3) > Bub still present in 3.1.1 Bub? Bug
Additional information: Deselecting "Brochure" will set the page size correctly again. Reselecting it sets to legal again. Steps to reproduce: 1) Follow the steps in John McCreesh's PDF. 2) Click the Cancel button on the properties page. 3) On the "Page Layout" tab, select "Pages per sheet" 4) Go back to the "General" tab and bring up the printer properties again. The page size is now A4. (CORRECT) 5) Click the Cancel button on the properties page. 6) On the "Page Layout" tab, select "Brochure" 7) Go back to the "General" tab and bring up the printer properties again. The page size has gone back to legal (BUG)
Additional information: Entering the print dialog with brochure pre-selected always gives legal paper size. Steps to reproduce: 1) Follow steps in John McCreesh's attachment. 2) On the printer properties page, manually set the paper size to A4. 3) Print the document. Verify that it prints as a brochure in A4. (CORRECT) 4) Select File->Print 5) Verify that "Brochure" is still selected on the "Page Layout" tab. 6) On the "General" tab click the "Properties" button. Page size is back at legal. (BUG)
Version should show where the problem has been observed the first time [Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.3.1 – WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO330m19 (build 8 / tag 3.3.1.2)]". 1. I created a very simpe 6 pages DIN A4 document 2. Menu 'File > Print > layout - 2 pages per sheet 3. Card 'General > Printer Properties > Paper / Quality' Shows A4 landscape as expected 4. Returned to Card 'General > Printer Properties > Paper / Quality' 5. Modified to "Brochure" (what should be something similar to "2 Pages per sheet") 6. Card 'General > Printer Properties > Paper / Quality' UNEXPECTED: shows "Legal landscape"

This appears to have been fixed in the latest master. Don't know if it made it into the 3.3.x branch.
Bug is still present in LibreOffice 3.3.2 / OOO330m19 (Build:202) / tag libreoffice-3.3.2.2
Hi John, (In reply to comment #10) > Bug is still present in LibreOffice 3.3.2 / OOO330m19 (Build:202) / tag > libreoffice-3.3.2.2 Due to the fact that my wife only asks me to print here brochures once in a while, I've not seen this one for a long time. Apologies ;-) However ... Interesting fact is that I have the problem in all 3.4-versions (and of course 3.5.0rcx) but not in the 3.3-versions. Nevertheless: major annoyance these printing problems since the changes in the OOo print dialog (I didn't complain loud enough then, since I created myself a simple work around ...)
On the users list, I've seen some discussions recently that handle this subject: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/msg16294.html http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/msg16228.html with a workaround in the second link.
I suggest the block 37361 should be removed cause this feature is not used much and there's a workaround.
I've tested with Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 360m1(Build:3)) and 4.0rc3 under Debian GNU/Linux 64, the but seems fixed in both versions. Since 3.5.x is no longer supported and >= 3.6.4 work fine, I close this bug.
