There appears to be no way to generate hyperlinks when creating an index of tables. This should behave like the table of contents.
I agree, that would be better but it works as designed, so that is not a bug: changed for enhancement.
[This is an automated message.] This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1 more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html
Enhancement => setting as NEW. Best regards. JBF
Still happens on LibreOffice 3.4.6 OOO340m1 (Build:602) This feature would be very useful. See also https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39904
Same issue is still present in 4.2.3.3. Illustration Index and Table of Contents can include hyperlinks, but for some reason not Index of Tables. It definitely doesn't look like a design decision.
Note that there is no workaround available.
It's still present on LibreOffice 5.0.1.2 as of september 7, 2015. It would be nice if you people fix this minor bug in a future release.
(In reply to Jose Gómez from comment #6) > Note that there is no workaround available. Actually, there seems to be a workaround available: When inserting the index, select "Illustration Index" (instead of the "Index of Tables") as type, and set the category to "Table" (instead of "Illustration"). And change the title to "Index of Tables". There is a problem currently, though: The "Illustration Index" has a bug - it loses its hyperlinks after the file gets closed and reopened and the index then updated. See bug 71737 comment 7. But it could be enough to do, e.g., a PDF export right after index creation. As pointed out in comment 5, and since "Illustration Index" and "Index of Tables" are almost the same, it's strange that the latter doesn't have hyperlinks. In fact, the issue seems to be rather configurational: The only difference between the two indexes seems to be their "Structure" in the "Entries" tab of the "Insert Index or Table of Contents" window, where the "Index of Tables" lacks the "LS" (hyperlink start) and "LE" (hyperlink end) fields.
(In reply to Jean-Baptiste Faure from comment #1) > I agree, that would be better but it works as designed, so that is not a > bug: changed for enhancement. Could you please explain that "design": In LibreOffice 5.1.5 I can have hyperlinks in the table of contents, I can have hyperlinks in the table of figures (images), but I cannot have hyperlinks in the table of tables. Hopefully it is not because someone was afraid of endless recursion ;-)
(In reply to Ulrich Windl from comment #9) > (In reply to Jean-Baptiste Faure from comment #1) > > I agree, that would be better but it works as designed, so that is not a > > bug: changed for enhancement. > > Could you please explain that "design" [...] This function has not been coded so it can't be bugged. I agree it is missing, so it is not a bug, it is an enhancement. Best regards. JBF
This feature would be wonderful! I can't believe that after so many years this feature has not been added yet. Is there any way to ask for this enhancement?
Is this bug report still valid? Under 7.4.5.2, Hyperlink descriptors LS and LE are available in Table of Figures, Index of Tables and Index of Objects. I have not tested, though, to see if problem mentioned in comment 5 still happens.
Closing as WORKSFORME. Tested with: Version: 7.2.7.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 8d71d29d553c0f7dcbfa38fbfda25ee34cce99a2 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19044; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win Locale: da-DK (da_DK); UI: en-US Calc: CL (also with Version: 7.6.0.0.alpha0+ (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community Build ID: c41e872ed248f804249ecf4d65c4afc2e426e329) NB. For type "Index of Tables", hyperlinks are not included in the default Structure in the Entries tab. However, if you add them, then hyperlinks are generated (and work). I will not open a new ticket to suggest that hyperlinks be added to the default Structure, but it seems like an obvious and convenient enhancement request.
